Every family faces property issues and feuds when there are a number of brothers and sisters. We had to go through the same problem. But the problem intensified when I realized that we do not have enough financial resources to hire a good family lawyer to discuss the issue. But, I managed to hire a lawyer with whatever limited resources we had. I can tell you how to get legal help, when you are going really broke.
Going for a court appointed lawyer
If you hire a lawyer for yourself, then you can be sure that it is a lot of expense. But, if you are having a criminal case registered, then the court will itself provide you a lawyer. Options are available and such options are kept generally for people who are low on finance. You will just have to inform your situation to the court and they will provide a lawyer for your convenience. But, these procedures vary from state to state. So, try to gather proper information about it, before you make a request.
Discuss your situation with your lawyer
Many family lawyers work on contingency-fee basis. If you can get hold of such a lawyer then it will be better for you. He will ask for his payment only when he has been able to win the case for you. If you fail to find such a lawyer, then at least talk out your plans with your most trusted lawyer. He may charge less in this case or will devise a payment strategy for you, where you can pay in installments. This will protect you from paying money all together and you can pay when you have the money. Make sure to clear it all out in the very beginning, otherwise lawyers will make you do additional expenses.
